Floyd Haskel Turner, 85, Glasgow, passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, peacefully, at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow. No services at this time.

Jackie Morris Gerald

Jackie Morris Gerald, 62, Gamaliel, passed away Friday, Dec.21, at his residence in Gamaliel. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, Dec. 23, at the Strode Funeral Home, with burial in the Monroe County Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Kathy (Short) York, 56, Tompkinsville, passed away on Monday, Dec. 17, at the Monroe County Medical Center. Funeral Services were conducted on Thursday, Dec. 20, at Strode Funeral Home, with Jason Page officiating the service. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Recycling program expands in Monroe County

The City of Tompkinsville’s recycling program is undergoing an expansion. Two new recycling trailers were purchased recently, made possible by a $109,000 grant received by the City this past year.
